In around 1050 Saint Bernardo D\u2019Aosta built a Hospice providing shelter to pilgrims and travelers. This millenary building, once very influential, is still open and running all year round. The entry is free and the tour of the chapel is highly recommended. The must-see include the wooden choir, pieces of sacred jewellery, miniated manuscripts and liturgical vestments. The Saint Bernard dog breed is the emblem of this place. With their large size and very gentle nature these dogs were chosen by the monks to open paths in the snow, allowing the rescue of lost wanderers.
